Google
Right on the heels of Google telling the US gov't to pound sand (which I loved) comes this over in China:

Cant those poor folks just hit an anon proxy in a dif country and then use actual stuff?
|
sure its censorship
but hey china doesnt have a first amendment and is a communist
country so they do as they please... our own country is strongly censored too but by much more deceptive and behind the scenes methods that aren't as obvious. when you consider what an internet connection can do for education in the deep isolated regions of china you wouldnt mind so much for them(google) to compete with MS and Yahoo. Some of these people still dont have motorized water pumps and when a single PC gets established in a village its a miracle. |
