epoxying metal lips
I'm epoxying the lips, tryed to get the epoxy in the slot and on the lip part that gos in the slot. and its making it slipery lip moving as its setting up:whackin: how doe's everyone else do it same way or put the lip on no epoxy inside and epoxy the outside to hold it plus wire.thanks for any input ed

If you want to epoxy the lip in place use 5 min epoxy. Hold it while it sets up.

I epoxy my lips inplace when I do the gromets etc. Then when I clear the plug everything is solid!
|
I just give the swivel a good pull, that tightens everything up pretty good.

If you are epoxying after wiring just hit the slot with the epoxy. It will flow in and hold the lip solid. I wire all my plugs then epoxy and haven't had a lip loosen up. As a matter of fact when I try to remove a lip it usually doesn't work and I end up destroying the plug. (after plug is finished)

ok I wire first
I was epoxying the lip the same time I epoxyed the body(not wired) on a coathanger. 30 min epoxy and flipping. one of them the lip slid out(alittle) when it was up side down, when I flipped it upright I reset it back in.I'm gonna wire then first thanks everyone. ed
