Live from Gobbler's Knob.....

Phil Says Six More Weeks of Winter!
Phil's official forecast as read 2/2/06 at sunrise at Gobbler's Knob:

It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Around the country there are many imitators of me.

In Harrisburg there is Gus who appears on TV
working for the lottery.

Then all around town,
Cute groundhog statues abound.
They all look like me, I found.

Today on the Knob as I'm doing my job,
I don't like this likeness of me.

It's my shadow I see. Six more weeks of mild winter there will be.

I waslistening to Imus this morning and they were saying Phil was all drugged up :hihi: ....

Hey Chief - how ya doin'? Question for you. Saw that purdy Tico over there last week when I was crossing the bridges every day and that AB a couple months back. Do they ever let civies tour these ships when they are in at Newport??

I feel a little amiss in that I have spent more hours on a Russina Sovremeny Cruiser and a Udaloy destroyer when they were in Boston in the mid nineties than our own boats. I relaize those Russian ships could be pretty nasty when they work but man, did some of the build quality look like crap...

Thanks,

John

John

I'm doing good, thanks.

They don't normally let folks tour the ships here, too much of a security issue.

I could give you a tour of the base (especially productive in May)

Ahhh - understand on the ship tour. I'm a, err, ummm, let's say a "Fort Meade" brat and remember as a kid that one Saturday a year they locked up everything tight and brought families to tour the parking lot so we could see what dad did  :hihi: ...

But I could be talked into for the May "tour" :btu: - I work in Newport for the school department...
