If you're pukin' it isn't the flu. Well, not the one a shot would protect against anyways. But a few weeks ago yeah, I thought I had the flu. Body aches, fever, congestion and I could barely get off the couch.

I got as flu shot once in the past 10 years.....and it was the sickest I had been in that same period...I personally don't believe in them. I haven't missed a day of work in the past 5 years since i stopped getting them.

But it could just be me

I see the flu as a vacation from work and relaxation from the chores of daddyism . first year I ever got a shot and so far so good .

bad idea

i've never had a flu shot and i hope i never will.

you getting a dose of flu in order to make anti bodies against it...

they used to say theres no link between catching colds and exposure to cold...
but now they say that the cold virus or flu gets inhaled into your nose or nasal pasage
and then sits there waiting for its chance...to thrive.

what the cold temperature does ...is to nullify the good bacteria in your nose that fights
the cold and flu bugs....just long enough for it to take hold...
so in essense you dont catch the flu , your exposed to it already....
and then you let your defenses down and it gets a foothold or in this case a "nosehold"
and then multiplies, so cover your nose in real
cold temp's and keep your defense system working is the best idea.

I get one each year, just because my company provides them free to employees and their families. I think I remember a nurse telling me that the shot is actually a combination of three separate viruses that are expected to be the most common in the upcoming season, and the shot only protects you against those three. I was told this year it's an old wives tale that in getting a flu shot you could briefly have the symptoms of the flu, like a fever. All in all, I don't see the reason not to get one.
