Though Dave was from Worcester as was I, we had never met until the winter of 1978 when at one of Paul Kukonen's annual fishing shows at the Little Theater at the Worcester Auditorium he jumped up and shouted at me and Wayne Pleska, now unfortunately passed away, "Hey I know where you guys are fishing and I am going to be on you like stink on Sh&t!!!!" Well where we were fishing was Monomoy and in 1978 Dave and his gang hit the island along with our little group. And so our friendship started.
Dave is one of the best Striper fisherman I know. One of the few who can say he has experienced a 1000 pound night on the beach. We have fished for ev everything from trout to tuna and everything in between. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it and I love the guy like my brother. Among our group of friends that started way back then myself and him are the only ones left still regurlarly fishing the outer beach and nights when the fishing is poor we sit in my truck have a drink and talk of the "good old days" and our adventures. I would sorely miss him, his humor and his helping hand if he were not there. It is my honor to call him my friend.:uhuh:
