had to suffer through 85 degree weather and potential for bad sunburn. put my wife on a couple of her bigger fish ever though.
tarpon estimated at somewhere between 80-90 lbs. the biggest mahi of the day, a bull that went 30 lbs. i love the off season in the northeast, gives me a chance to check out other places. this was in puerto rico. |

Yum! Yum! Yum!:eyes: Sure would like to go Tarpon fishing some day! Nice dolphin too!:uhuh:
Got a weight on the tarpon? Also what is that in the 3rd pic? |
i havent caught many tarpon so i dont know. the capt. said somewhere between 80-90 lbs.
the third pic is one of the mahi mahi or dorado being gaffed. |
Must be awsome getting outa here and stickin big lip in the sun. Hope to do that on a regular basis when my kids grow up=bye NE winta's.
|
Nice pics man, looks like an amazing time. I've heard that the Mahi don't hold there amazing colors after they die, could just be the sun, but the colors in the Mahi gaff pic are amazing.
And is it me or do Tarpon look like oversized stripers........ |
I wish I was there it is a good time I fished in P.R. before only it was more like baby tarpon nothing even close to that size.still a good time for sure.
|
Nice Mahi Mahi best eating fish there is trade you some cod for some :rotfl:

wow
I'm jealous. I love eating mahi too they are are quite delicious. I wouldn't compare a Tarpon to a striper but more like and over sized anchovie. they are know for the crazy jumps and it looks as though that one filled the stereo type! |
