I'm a "fair weather" fisherman
 

When I was younger, I'd go fishing in the rain, wind, cold...whatever, but the older I get, the less I like fishing in "uncomfortable" conditions. My younger brother taught me "the wind blows" and other such sayings such as "a warm wife is better than a cold fish" (I'm not so sure about that). So, do you like fishing in "extreme conditions ?

I remember me and Jr getting up @ 2:30 am during a viscous rain storm and off to the DITCH for a fall blitzt action , the fish were hitting all week . it was sidways rain after an hour and half I said were outta here home @ 5am, the rain was so hard it sounded like someone hitting you with pea stone from 10', but we were there and put in our best effort. It's kinda like when you look @ each other and say what the F#*+ are we doing here

na, just not as young and adventureous as I used to be.

I think "been there, done that" has alot to do with it.
I like cloudy, overcast days with a little "drizzle" in the summer and fall. I'll fish then.
I've fished in hail, rain, snow...

Those late season blues in Buzzards Bay were always fun to catch in November, big suckers.

My old bones can't take it any more. I'll take warm summer breezes over rain and cold. I just sit there now, look out the window and think to myself "I should be fishing", then, turn the heat up a little and go back to bed.

I guess it would be different if I was a commercial fisherman who goes when they can get out, no matter what the weather. Hmmm:uhoh:

My best fishing in nj this fall came the second week of november.40 mph ne winds.hard driving rain no body but me an the fishes.all nighters an work the next day.3 days in a row till the weather an fish crapped out.when i was 25 it was no problem.at 45 its somewhat harder.

bring on the snot!!! i find the fish like snotty weather and so do i.

Love the snot, I figure as long as I can, I'll fish inthe crap. There's plenty of time for fare weather fishing when I get old.... well older.

I find some of the most productive fishing takes place in snotty, rainy weather......so I love it!:bgi:

I have the gear to keep myself warm and dry so I don't mind the crappy weather.

I do have bad knees and a bionic right arm so there are some days when the weather limits me to how long and where I can fish.I tend to fish easy spots when the weather and water isn't to cooperative.

the lousy weather brings the fish in and me out after them. Plus you won't find as many of the nitwits out in the snot.

I think that the biggest plus of fishing in nasty weather is all the googs and sissies are warm and dry at home....less aggravation for those who fish the slop to deal with!:jump:

i have fished in the most %$%$%$%$ty conditions in the world.all you need is good foul weather gear-comerical fishing rain gear,good hip boots or a good surf top to clinch over your waders.

may it's just some of us been there/done and now have learned u ain't gotta beat ya brains an body to catch a fish...it's all knowin when an where:hee: brite warm sunny day,,high noon,,,flat water,,,fish on :happy:

I love fishing in really rough weather, keeps ya on your toes and really paying attention. Also there is the big fish factor, for us surfcasters a noreaster is probably our best shot at some real monsters.
Not to mention it keeps the crowds home, gotta love when your wearing your dry top and waders and everyone else but you is running to their car when the rain really starts. they are missing out!
