All new rods this year
 

Well, after fishing with old cheap rods that leave much to be desired I am planning on upgrading my arsenal this year. What would you go with? Here are my reels:

Abu Garcia 6500 baitcaster
Abu Garcia 6-5000BG Centerdrag
Penn 6500SS
2 Penn 5500SS
Penn 49 Super mariner

I fish bearses rip off monomoy mostly unless it gets crowded but most of the time I'm out there with sluggos or sand eels. I wanted to have a varity from light tackle to heavy duty. The Penn 49 is what I use for trolling bucktails, umbrella rig, tub n worm... its loaded with wire and the rod I have now is a 40-80lb class that is way way to heavy duty. As for the other reels I was thinking about going st croix all the way across the line. Any other stuff I should be aware of? I'd like to have 12lb test all the way to 25lb on other rods. There's a good deal in the classifieds right now for 2 20-50# wire rods for $75 total. That's the size you need, and it's always good to have a pair. I'd have jumped on them but have no time to get to Newport to pick them up, plus I already have wire line rods.
