i imagine cops have enough going through their minds when in a gunfight- they don't need worry about winging the bad guys. paterson is a moron, protect the bad guys- yeah right.

The only thing that will accomplish is the death of more officers.That has to be one of the most moronic if not the most moronic thing any politician has ever proposed.Its almost unbelievable that anyone could propose such a thing.

Imagine if that passed.The rate at which officers would be killed on duty would be sickening.Then of course the families of every thug killed would be suing the city because their son should've only been injured.

The truly frightening thing is that there are people who will support this.

Unfortunately, in NY, the Gov and Lt Gov run as a ticket and Spitzer, the candidate for Gov, is at least 20 points ahead in the polls. And there is no credible Republican on the horizon.

If I was a cop, I'd rather be unarmed, like a British Bobby, than have to operate under this idiotic law.
