I think that was a very well crafted automated "spambot" that was able to:

1) enter the necessary info for registration

2) pass the image verification item implemented 18 months ago (you need to read the alphanumeric code back)

3) reply to the confirmation email sent out...

Not easy to do... I'll also need to check some other stuff too....

It was an actual person.He posted specific replies in the Sportsman forum.

he came in and basically announced he was spamming us
in each forum...
johns saying its a bot

I changed the guys signature to say he was a spammer. And deleted most of his threads as he went down the list of forums one by one. It took him a while to realize I was deleting them.

some kind of deal he was pushing - you know the one where you mail $1 to the six names and put you name on bottom.
