gurglers anyone?
I recently read an article about using a surface fly called the Gurgler, originated by Jack Garsides. I tied a few up but hve not yet tried them. Anybody out there tried gurglers yet? If so how did they work? Supposed to be a killer on stripers. Mal

I have had good luck with them during a worm hatch, the bucktail, and shellback, are red. fish them slow and on a dry line, also quiet water is better. |

gurgla's
I made up quite a few gurglers and the foam I used absorbed too much water thereby keeping them from floating. The action on the retrieve did not have the desired affect after four or five casts. I did like the action the first couple of casts and retrieve though. Anybody here have any ideas on what kinds of foam to use when tieing these I would appreciate the help. The only alternative that I could think of was coating the foam with one layer of HEAD cement, after tieing the foam on the hook, making the foam somewhat impermeable. What does everyone think.
It is better to have fished and lost than never to have fished at all. "me" |

Oh Like this one! Link above has tying instructions and also some way to seal and stiffen the foam. The very closed cell archery foam comes to mind as a solution. Maybe
