Keeping in spirit with Eelman's Post...
|
Nice rig, I always drool over the North Coasts  at King Cove
|
Whattaya gonna do? Row the thing out to sandspit? :smash:
|
you can't see where we are going to step the mast? With the cost of gas these days....
I will hang and rig the motor this weekend. It is the 150 rude that I bought from Mr. Sandman a little over a year ago. It was on my mako but that boat needs more work than I have time. Especially since I cut it all apart. |
Turbo it.... 7/8 frac with runners.
I think Shindig might have a kite or 20 it can spare. :D Quote:
What shape? I need yet another project I'll never complete. |
Nice boat. I almost bought a Lema 19 (the former name) back in 2003. It's pretty heavy to paddle, however. ;)
That thing will fly with a 150 on the back! |

yeah, i still have it. I will give it to anyone that wants it. It is a major project. I started by cutting out the washboards to replace the core, because several holes had let water in and they were all rotten. Then I realized I wasn't going to be done with this boat until next year at the earliest, and with a baby due in august, I want to maximize fishing time may-july. The transom needs to be replaced. The deck needs to be replaced. I am guessing when you do that you will find some stringer work that needs to be done. All teak needs to be brought back to life, and one piece needs to be fabricated. I have the raw teak for this project. rubrail was trashed so I took it off. needs to be replaced. I have all of the hardware (cleats, rodholders, etc..) but they are in pretty rough shape, so if you go through this whole restoration, I would assume that you would get nice new ones. As I said, the washboards have been cut out and need to be replaced. The console will need to be filled/painted. It is basically your typical 1970 mako total refurb project. I would need to get money for the trailer though... new rollers, new bunks, needs springs, fenders, maybe more....but still half way decent trailer..... |
Good luck with her Zac! I didn't know you were looking for a new boat, or was it a spur of the moment decision?
|
I had been battling the decission for a while. I just didn't want to miss a full summer on the water. I had been eyeing the Northcoasts for a while. I sent them an email, and they gave me a tour of the factory, and let me check out a few boats. The key was that I already had good power and they would sell me this one un-rigged.
A week later I bought a boat they had in stock. SO I guess it was kind of spur of the moment. |
Wow!
A very nice clean design. I always liked the look of the Lema/Northcoast. Good luck with her. |
Sweet Rig Zac!! Won't be long now - Im sure I'll be seeing you in all the usual places.

Yeah, I owe you a ride, Dave.
|
sweeeeeeeet
Nice boat, which dealer you go threw?
|
I went directly through Nortcoast. They deal direct only for RI residents. If you live outside of RI you have to go to a dealer in your state. Like King Cove, in CT.
My favorite part about buying a boat in RI...... NO TAX! _Z_ |
just downloaded rigged pics.
weather has been too windy lately. Need to paint bottom, then into the slip she goes. _Z_ http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...Rigged001S.jpg |

Looks great.
|
SWEET good luck with it
|
:kewl: Nice rig! What happen to the mako?
That motor is now on its third boat. Usually it is the boat that gets 3 different motors in a lifetime not the other way around:D Good luck with it Zac PS looks good behind your new truck. (new truck new boat new trailer...life must be good over there!) |
nice ride!:claps:
|
Thanks Guys.
Jim, I sold the Mako & Trailer to a high school kid. He has a lot more time than I do, and he is going to do the complete rebuild that the boat needed. Everything was rotten on that boat. Transom, deck, stringers, everything. All foam was soaked, gas tank OK, but fill was a disaster, I could go on and on. I started the project but realized I did not have anywhere near the time to get it done and be in the water before 2008. Seriously. So, since I had the reliable motor, I bought this beauty. And yes, new job = new truck and boat. Funny thing is, combined, boat, trailer and truck are still cheaper than the how they wanted me to spend my car $ (BMW) until I talked them out of it... |
got a friend w/ same one 2yrs old.w/bim-top...nice rig .... good luck,capt.
|
