Key question
 

I apologize if this is a stupid question.

I've got a Robalo center console with a Mercury outboard. I'd like to get a couple of spare ignition keys made (only have 1 now).

Do I go to a Mercury dealer or a Robalo dealer. Can a locksmith make this key?

Go to a Merc outboard dealer.

Almost anyone who makes keys can make one.

true you just might not get the fancy plastic cover thingy on it. most of my boats i could start with any of the car keys i carry if you wiggle it enough..forgot my keys at home many times.

I forgot my keys too many times so I hotwired my boat, I know its a bad idea but boy is it convienent.

When I lost the keys to my boat, I called the dealer I got the boat from. He had all the keys in stock.Cabin Key, Console Key, and Engine Key.Although, I got my boat brand new.so weather they are the same year after year I don't know. Its worth a try!!!
