RI Tides & Weather Page - No purchase necessary

This page will give you Rhody psychos a quick place to check Gansett wind direction and tide/moon data...
Updated Tides & Weather Page

Nice... but who needs a wind reading. I can always tell you exactly where the wind will be blowing at all times...

IN MY FACE!!!!!

Joe 04-19-2006 01:10 PM

I'm not sure what you mean by "wind reading"....Its reading a velocity of 14mph right now...
But I plugged in a link for a 36 hour wind forecast..
Sometimes its blowing one direction inland and another by the shore. (Unless of course you never leave Gannsett - we got a few of those...) :jump1:

sweet - when you're done - I'd be interested in renting access to it

likwid 04-19-2006 01:32 PM

which station is that getting the data from Joe?
you should probably list that as some are total freaks and know the time differences from a particular spot. ;)

Nice work

Nice all around

Information on when the out flow begins at the breachways would be helpful.:lurk:

Joe 04-19-2006 03:40 PM

How about a program where you punch in the date, your location, what the current weather and wind is and how it has been the last few days, and out pops a spot recommendation?

Well that's a quality contribution...

Sea Dangles 04-19-2006 07:48 PM

No sarcasm involved john,I call Capt. Don frequently and ask when the change is.I'm sure many anglers who are site members would love to have the info a click away.It doesn't seem like it would be much work but your the computer dude.I just thought it would add to the site and it seems you had a similar idea.

Nebe 04-19-2006 07:52 PM

SD- one would think that such a great fisherman like yourself would be able to figure out the tide changes on your own

Sea Dangles 04-20-2006 06:34 AM

Bart,do Homer and Marge know you are up this late?

NIB 04-20-2006 07:02 PM

I just wait for the lot to fill up.
circle jerks.

bart 04-20-2006 10:32 PM

SD- youre the man, i'm sorry i can't bust balls as good as you. your life must be really good to go online and start s hit all the time for your own s hits and giggles. no one gives a f$$ck about the lucky fortys you caught last year. you must really know your s hit if you have to call captn don every time you hit the breachways, thats the mark of a competent fisherman. :rollem:

Just learn the time differences between locations, then all you need to know is when its gonna turn at The Race. :hihi:

Also I have an amazing secret invention to share:

The lag times between slack at the breachways are also influenced by wind, surf, tide extremes, the influence of tropical storms, etc.
Its a tough one to peg - the only way to be sure not to miss it is to always be early.
David Pickering did a good article about it in the NEF about 15 years ago - I'm surprised nobody remembers it. Maybe I'll approach him about buying the reprint rights for the web - unless one of you guys want to.
