Where to slip in Rhody ?

I will be vacationing the first week of Aug in Charlestown, and I need to rent a slip for a week. I was talking to a friend who said I don't want to stay in Charlestown because the pond is shallow, guys are always hitting bottom, and going out the breachway is a P.I.A., especially to someone unfamiliar with the area like me.He recommends staying in Snug Harbor. Would any of you guys agree/disagree, any recommendations on were to look for a slip ?

I think you are going to have a very hard time getting a slip for any amount of time, this point into the season. Slips in this area are virtually impossible to come bye. In regards to the salt pond in Charlestown being shallow it is in certain places, but if you know the route and follow the markers you are ok.

You can try these:
Ocean House Marina- Charlestown
Snug Harbor Marina- Wakefield
Billington Cove-Wakefield
Hanson's Landing Wakefield
Shelter Cove- Charlestown

Good Luck!!!!

Keep it on the trailer. Lots of good launch ramps on both ends of the south coast. An option anyway.
