VAN STAAL VS. AQUASKINZ
i need a new plug bag and i am going with a van staal or aquaskinz. i am interested in any feed back from owners of each of these. not too familiar with the van staals.
|
I'm not too Familiar with the VS bags - thought they seem nice on inspection...
I have the 'Skinz bags and like them. They've saved plugs from spilling, they carry well, and they don't wear down quick. I like 'em... |
Coming up on my third or forth season with my aquaskins bag.I got em when they first came out can't remember when actually.Normally would be replacing it by know.It has held up real well. The velco is so strong u don't need to use the clip. Its good to have when u get in the water.

I have both double and single row bags in VS and Aquaskinz. The VS tubes lasted about 1 season, then I had to rebuild them from the NJTackle plug tubes. The Aquaskinz tubes are still going strong after 1+ seasons. You get better customer service out of Aquaskinz to back up their product as well. Given a choice on the two companies, I would go with the Aquaskinz. :kewl:

love my skinz bag :humpty:
|
I have skinz tubes in my V/S bag.
|
Aqua Skinz all the way. I've never gotten a good look at the old VS bags but the tubes in the new ones look flimsy and easily breakable.
|
where;d you get the skinz tubes

I use 3 of the Aquaskinz Belt Bags - they are great surf bags & well worth the money.
|
The belt loops are coming off my medium skinz bag after only using it ten times. This should not have happened.

I used two row vs bag for 6 years now.It get abused by floating in a wetsuit and it gets hammered on the jetties.Had to rebuilt inserts after few years.Other than that the best money I ever spent on fishing tackle.VS came out with new bags this year ,a little lighter and thinner material.I wasn't too crazy so I bought four old style bags.Hey ,you can never have enough stuff.
Aquaskinz bag do look great.I will get myself a new aquaskinz small "tall" bag this year. That looks like something that might be very useful when swimming to rocks and when big bag gets in the way |

The new one as Zeno stated is still solid, but not quite what the old one was. Aquaskinz is very well built too. The biggest advantage is the tubes in the Aquaskinz, the only downside to that durability is the weight. The double row Aquaskinz is fairly hefty. |
