On the cheap

Chunk of mackerel, clam, or squid.

For lures: a ton...go slow until the water warms a bit

smac 04-24-2006 11:29 AM

Will do

I love this time of the season.

I will try something burple/ Dark.

Rockport24 04-24-2006 12:05 PM

there is this dude in RI that likes to use black sluggos, wish I could remember his name.... ;)

The Dad Fisherman 04-24-2006 12:27 PM

I had good luck w/ Black Mambo Minnows last season.

piemma 04-24-2006 12:38 PM

Eels, my own Black jointed Danny, Black needles, black Dannys. Do you see a common ground here? Anything as long as it's Black, or Purple and Black

baldwin 04-24-2006 06:09 PM

Black lures can do very well at night...but don't ignore white. I've had great luck on white when others weren't catching on black. Depends on what the fish want.

libassboy 04-24-2006 07:02 PM

Surf Howdies...yellow..
Redfin...any color works really
bombers..chartruse,chicken scratch,black
Sluggos...black/red
needles..habs...eel color
and of course swimmers...beachmaster has been a favorite of mine for a while but rm smiths swimmers have proved themselves worthy...
stock ure nite bag with these plugs, chances are youll hit some fish:uhuh:

Sounds like my surf bag, I also can't wait to try the Black Knight. I can finally stop painting my tins and just buy them now. great idea Pt. Jude Joe

tattoobob 04-24-2006 08:09 PM

I forgot to say I have had the best luck on Salty's Electric Chartreuse Needles and Round Nose Swimmers,

Skitterpop 04-24-2006 08:28 PM

The Great Lure Color Debate

Some say black some say white some say blurple some say pink or even yellow

seems like they all work at one time or another....

libassboy 04-25-2006 02:10 PM

Tattoobob, i hear ya on the black knights, cant wait to grab a few.

scoobe 04-25-2006 07:23 PM

My first pitch is usually a small slammer. If I get a hit, I stay and use
Mr. Hopkins or a Jude. Metal always, always works! Oh ya and mix it up with good ol Wood anything on the color wheel.
