Ok found this.Closest one is 40 mins either direction add summertime traffic an it could easily be more.

Skitterpop 04-23-2006 07:16 AM

I`m thinking about it and it would be my first tourney and I have some things going on that would restrict my fishing..... but I keep thinking about it.

Thats a long drive NIB for a weigh in. Throw it on ice and send it to me UPS. I`ve got a weigh station down the street. :hihi:

nightfighter 04-23-2006 07:23 AM

Based on lack of 'local' weigh stations, I would say I'm out. Can't believe they don't have one within twenty miles north of Boston.

Contact On The Water

They made big changes in the tourney. Contact them and voice your concerns. This is their 1st tourney and maybe they are working on or will work on adding more stations.

basswipe 04-23-2006 08:05 AM

I signed up after the rules changes.

SandyPtMayor 04-23-2006 08:22 AM

No... just need my eyes checked... really do, they is startin to play tricks on me :(

JohnR 04-23-2006 09:20 AM

I dunno - I've asked a few times among the members here and have not had much response lately... As for S-B fielding a team, I need responses from the membahs....

Skitterpop 04-23-2006 09:35 AM

from 3/30/06

To be fair to other clubs just keep the teams for various states to a set limit equivalent to most independent clubs. I bet when push comes to shove you`ll be surprised to see the small amount who will enter as a S-B member.... No offense intended.

NIB 04-23-2006 09:36 AM

Well the Poll thread was sidetracked by some internet Joker.:as:
Of the 56 voters 11 said they would fish as a S-B team member.
11 may not be Mass Bass PFfffftt..But it is a team.

tattoobob 04-23-2006 10:33 AM

I signed up after the rule change, I haven't seen any shirt or any correspondence from OTW yet. I have to check the weigh stations

Most of the clubs from Long Island have 40-50 members. I doubt we'd get that many from any one state here at s-b.

stripercrazy 04-23-2006 01:26 PM

I'm not

I not fishing for my club or myself. most of the keeper fish I caught and seen caught were all under 20 pounds, most were just keepers, the fisherary is still in trouble. seems to me people are happy throwing back 27 inch fish, most fish caught after 29 inches are getting taken. I don't know anyone at on the water, but it seens there forgeting the sportman part of the sport, would bassmaster ever do this in freshwater? seems that striper reform has stalled at 28 inches and everyone seems ok with it. I hate to think stripers will end up like a put and take fishery, insted of stocking them we let them breed and at 28 there gone.just my 2 cents. ed

Well we went through this several times over. The folks at OTW have made some changes to the rules.Under the new rules the tournament does seem more fish friendly. An well beneath the limits u can take by law.Comparing 12" bass to 20 lb stripers kept alive is apples an watermelons, really.U have the right not to partake an that is fine.thanks for ur input.looking for both sides of the coin here.

stripercrazy 04-23-2006 02:46 PM

good luck

if you guy's get a team going , best of luck.

Slipknot 04-23-2006 05:08 PM

If NIB is in, I am too:uhuh:

Skitterpop 04-23-2006 05:26 PM

Can S-B front a team with Members from different states?

If so I`ll sign up :nopain:

Squid kids Dad 04-23-2006 05:39 PM

I am in for sure..You never know how big the bite is gonna be...The new rules are a lot more fish freindly..

Same here, and I'm just 20 miles north of Boston!?!? That's a big void, especially with projected fuel prices..... Could be the nail in the coffin for me, and many anglers on the north shore.

Offshore 04-24-2006 08:00 AM

I signed on after the rules change as an individual

BasicPatrick 04-24-2006 08:08 AM

I am fishing for MSBA

Mike P 04-24-2006 08:42 AM

I'm in, too. I'll be part of sb-MA if John goes that way, otherwise I'll be in as me, myself and I ;)

Rockport24 04-24-2006 09:10 AM

Yeah, it looks like surfland is it on the north shore. oh well. I think I am going to sign up, not so much to weigh in fish for a club, but to weigh in a cow if the stars align for me one night this year. Oh and a big fishing/harpoon party sounds like a great time.
Still, I would be a part of S-B, MA also if some of you dudes were interested.

Steve K 04-24-2006 09:12 AM

I just signed up.

stiff tip 04-24-2006 09:35 AM

Saltheart 04-24-2006 09:40 AM

I'm going to enter. I can fish for S-B or for myself. I'd like to see a team from the site. I listed reasons on the Poll thread.
