Great vacation!

Being in education might not be the most lucrative venture one might choose. However, the helping the kids and the April and Summer vacations are key. Last year during Spring break, I had to go on my honeymoon and missed out on some nice fish. This year, being married was alittle different. But I managed to get out for five trips anyway. All five days I was able to catch fish. 4 out of the 5 days I was able to catch keepers. After all was said and done I did keep 3 fish. 1 for me:drool: And one each for my parents and grandparents.

I started on Friday 4/14/06. I was in CT. Lets put it this way, I could have gambled if I wanted to. But, I chose to gamble on fishing instead and landed this nice 21# fish.

Nice, Where are the crazy pics of a shirtless bald guy in waders surrounded by urban decay?

Had a few more trips down to CT during the week and caught decent fish up to 32" on poppers and live dace. On Friday, I decided I would go give it a shot in my backyard. Living in Western MA this is one of the only 2 months of the year I can catch a stripah without driving 100 miles. I was very happy to land this 24" on Friday.

Mikey's gonna need a four door when 'baby makes three!' Get your fishing in now, brother!

nightfighter 04-23-2006 09:42 AM

BTW That is NOT an announcement.

Today was a good day too. I got up a little late after last night:buds: But made it down to the river around 7:30. I landed 4 fish over 30" in 30 minutes. All fat! Then it shut off. Here are the 2 I kept for my parents and grandparents. What a way to end a vaca!

NIB 04-23-2006 01:51 PM

Why not?????

Rappin Mikey 04-23-2006 04:41 PM

You know what Duke, you've bashed me before on here. I don't even know who you are. I would appreciate if you wouldn't respond to my posts anymore. Unless you have something positive to say of course. Thankyou, Mikey

Duke41 04-23-2006 06:51 PM

I don't remeber bashing you before. I am really not trying to bash you just to make a point. You seem to practice catch and kill. How about letting a few go.

Squid kids Dad 04-23-2006 06:55 PM

GEEZ..How to kill a an excellent thread....Enough already.....
Dont worry about Mikey

littlewing 04-23-2006 07:01 PM

Nice catch...

You say your in Western Ma, I am in Central and do most of my fishing at PI. I am getting the urge to go south until they hit the north shore. Your pictures/stories are just the thing to get me moving. Thanks for the post.

Rappin Mikey 04-23-2006 07:06 PM

I admire your opinion. I let a lot of fish go. Im sorry if thats how I appear to you because that is not the way I am. Without ever meeting me or fishing with me it seems you have formed all sorts of opinions of me that aren't true (thats a bit weird). You shouldn't do that. Now, without ever meeting you I have an opinion about you. I however will keep the rest of them to myself.

Rappin Mikey 04-23-2006 07:09 PM

I think its kinda cool I have a hater though.:musc:

keeperreaper 04-23-2006 07:10 PM

He is doing everything within the law. If you have a problem with him obeying the law; then you have a problem with the law. He isn't wasting the fish but feeding his family with it. RM nice fish and a great start to the season.

Moses 04-23-2006 07:14 PM

Nice fish Mikey, lot bigger than the occassional twinkie I'm seeing down my way.......

izzy 04-23-2006 07:31 PM

Keep the pics coming Mikey...they are awsome!

Good luck
Izzy

You really can't put it any better than that.

macojoe 04-23-2006 07:37 PM

whats wrong with it if you going to eat it?? As long as it isn't being wasted!!
Wow I guess the 100 pounds of fish I put away for the winter for the faimly is wrong also??

I better fish and release, and go pay $10.99 a pound at stop & shop, cause them fish weren't killed :gf:

BigFish 04-23-2006 09:05 PM

I have seen Mike and his brother in action Duke. I think you owe him an apology......that would be the right thing to do. You don't know him from Adam, the guy keeps a couple of fish and you claim to know what he has in his freezer? He is within the bounds of the law and who are you to criticize?

Nice fish Mike! Glad you had a good week!:btu:

Duke41 04-23-2006 09:23 PM

Fish Killers all of you. Whales, tuna, cod, sharks, herring, eels the list is endless. I am just following the law, its not my repsponsiblity , who's is it them. Keep filling your f--ing freezers with dried out frost bitten fish and we can all go back to fun trips for bluefish. Tag the little f-ers and throw them back, all of them. Use cricle hooks ,while you are it. Admit they don't taste that great anyways. :tooth:

rob-s 04-23-2006 09:59 PM

:fishslap: thats a good one a realestate developer calling a surf fisherman greedy:rotf3:

Squid kids Dad 04-23-2006 10:23 PM

I guess there is a reason why Duke isnt around much..:liquify:
