cutting vmc's

So do you cut em with a dremel, bend em open, then close em or is there something else I should know?

That's what I do when I HAVE to cut them. I try to use tripple split rings wherever I can. Bend them as little as posible

I cut them with a small pair of bolt cutters then bend the eye to the side, like the old mustad open eyes used to be.

I cut them with a pair of heavy duty side cutters and twist the eye just enough to get it to fit on the swivel.
