I dunno about you guys but im running into tons of stripers including in my home town of Bristol No more traveling for me :) the stripers are now here as well in a few of my secert spots that produce early in the season every year.....

Heres a nice 32" 10lb fish i caught last night I also caught a ton of schoolies from 17" to 25" this fish here was fooled on a live herring. They are here and the BIG ones should arrive very soon......

I gut hooked this fish so it had to come home with me :(
Its going to a good cause though... my stomach :)

South Shore

I have had good luck in the late summer & Fall in Hull.

Any other places on the South Shore??

Simco:

I fish Boston harbor and outer islands from when the mackerel show (late april-may) all through the season. The whole area is very good for bassin'

If you fish from shore strictly, try point Allerton. I'm not sure how to get down to the water, but I see guys there alot while I'm out in the boat.

Hul gut should be good all year also. On the back side of the gut is Pemberton pier. Alot of guys fish there with great success.

Any river in Weymouth that has access should produce, but it may take some learning to figure the best times.

Even the new park at Neponset circle has access to the river and could be good.

Just gotta put the time in places. Good Luck, I hope this helps.:D

I';ve gone fishing for stripers 3 out of the last 5 days so far 3 keepers and i ran into my first migratory schoolies yesturday for a total of around 10 schoolies caught of shad bodies made by powerbait they woulndt touch those Storm wildeyes!!!! I'll be going tonight as well gonna stick to fishing a few spots in Bristol....... Hopefully i run into something BIG. Still might be a bit early to hope for anything over 20lbs but im sure there is a few out there. You don';t know until you try!

I'm surprised no one is catching in warwick yet thats only a short swim accross the bay to Bristol you warwick guys may want to get out there and try because i have a funny feeling they are in there as well!

Surfhunter keep in touch I figure after i catch all the RI bass I';ll head up your way ) figure the middle of may as the first 2 weeks in RI are very HOT for SB fishing plus i gotta catch me some TOG!

Nantasket Beach

I had great luck on the beach side using clams.

Best day = 32, 36, and a 40+" catch in a couple of hours.

The trick was to use the sandstick and let the bait stay until the third strike. They got spooked easily.

Other guys working the bait had few if any hits.

I have fished the gut with limited success.

www.hullcam.com is a good site with a live cam for conditions on the beach plus tide charts.

Hopefully, I'll get out this weekend...

Fished Buckeye Brook outflow before and after high tide with squid and not a nibble. Think water needs to warm, and rain didn't help. East bay guys are using the striper magnets again, keeping all the fish on their side.:smash: :smash:

Bluz - welcome to S-B... There never is any fish at Buckeye Brook - all the fish are always at Conimicutt, remember that - you were fishing at Con Nimi Cutt ;) ... Seriously, this year I've seen a tiny percentage of what makes that place tic as compared to last year and I'm a little frightened by that...

Do you live near there? I'm down the road a little from it...

bluzjamer 05-02-2002 11:56 AM

Hi,
I live over by Del's. Have fished most of Rhody (like flyfishing) for many years. Mill Cove usually produces this time of year and so does the conimicutt side of buckeye outflow. Nothing appeared to be happening off either side of the beach. Need warmer weather.
Nights are still too cold.

Bluz,no bait,no fish that area is way off so far this season/////////////////////////////

If it were Squid Brook you'd have been OK :) Since its called Buckeye Brook .... well , you know :)
