Get either QD electronic cleaner or denatured alcohol in a spray bottle. Drench it, pat it out and let it evaporate, should be good to go in about an hour
|
Pull it apart, wash the plastic in the sink with soap and water, the electronics with alcohol(not the fun kind) if they got wet. If there is any corrosion on the board and its a cheap keyboard, buy a new one, its not worth the effort. As the help desk guy in my company, I do this a lot, the worst is juice
|
If it got in the springs or key lift, which it probably did, you'll never be able to clean it out.
Spoil yourself with a new keyboard for $20 at CompUSA - Viewsonic makes a decent cheap one. I got a new dell in box for $10  Or a wireless keyboard/mouse for $30  |
Coke in Keyboard
Turn keyboard upside down and put it in the Top Shelf of the dishwasher. Run it through one cycle, and stand it up in the corner and let it dry for a few hours.(overnite is best) I do it to mine!!

Umm it's a Toshiba laptop....... good thing they give us two shift keys!

Just saw this. I'm a pc tablet hardware specialist. Well, I was until I got laid off last week. Anyhow, First - Turn it off! The individual keys can be pulled or popped off I used to use a letter-opener or a butter knife. Be very careful not to break them while doing this. They will be stubborn, but they will pop off. Take a que-tip with warm water and clean around the areas on the keyboard that are sticky. Wash the individual keys in warm water getting all the sticky stuff off the bottoms and sides of the keys. Make sure not to use a lot of water, you don't want to soak it. Snap the keys back on. Its the sugar in the Coke that's going to make them sticky, all you need is warm water to dilute it.

JoshC is right. thet's what i do even on my desktop. just be careful not to break those little thing..
