This panel I made last year for a yacht called Mascot. he need somthing that lit up, but fit in a tight area, and was also waterproof. As youc an see fromt he pics, a lot of work went into this, it is back this year to put a new face on it as he need the strobe changed to compass. I hand solder every resistor and developed the vertical mount busses to fit in the tight area, teverything was laser cut and engraved.

Nice work - wish I could have hit you up for knowledge before breaking down and getting a Blue Seas (not the POS weatherdeck)...

Question for you - what did you use for the panel material and how did you handle the labeling and logo?

Thanks!

John

Blue seas makes great components, but I do not like thier panels, they are not engraved so they can wear off, and the are metal, which is not a good idea at all.. If you ever need anything, just let me know, I make custom panels for the same price as an off the shelf blueseas. I even put your boat graphic or name on them, and engrave the positions for whatever you need. I am not plugging myself, just offering up some help:)

I use a CNC laser to engrave and cut everything, this material is a UV plastic that I engrave from behind. You can never wear it out as it has a clear cap. I have many different colors and patterns I use, I even have fake Carbon fiber that the import car kids love.

Usually I use a textured plastic and engrave them from the from like this Mustang panel you can hit this with a screwdriver and never scratch it, it is very durable material, nad non conductive, unlike the blueseas panels. Which I have replave tons of due to the paint chippping and the metal corroding.

I also do these chrome plastic emblems too, check this one out. Maybe if JohnR wants I will donate some to the site.

You stick these on your car or where ever. they are also engraved and cut with my laser:D

Here is one of three I made for a Royal Huisman. IT is reverse engraved and lit with electroluminecence strips. I made the inserts and lit it up . the reame was existing and they wanted to keep it, it was a tough one because the hole positions were not symetrical, so I had to indicate every hole individually. the brown it paint, I engraved it, painted it then engraved the text so light could pass.
