Now what?

Three years ago I started teaching my GF how to fish. She was happy with this:

Then she wanted something bigger. After I convinced her that getting up at 3am might be worthwhile she became happy with this:

The tounge in cheek question is - where to I go from here?

You must now convince her that size doesn't matter. :laugha:

Well now she has the size and the motion of the ocean. Great pics and a good looking fishing partner.

Roger,

How about you tell us more about catching that fish. Looks like a good story. I don't think anyone will mind of you burn that spot!

I was aboard a Cozumel charter. It was just Karen and I. That was one of 5 billfish brought to the boat that day, along with a bunch of dorado and some wahoo. The spot was a couple miles off Playa del Carmen and a bit south. All the billfish and most others were caught on 20# mono fished way way back, trolling ballyhoo.

The sails and marlin were catch and release. The dorado and wahoo were catch and fillet.

It was a good day.
Here's another:

Obviously the captain gets the credit for finding the fish. Our job was not to screw it up. It was a little more challenging for her because most fish were caught on that spinning outfit which came close to being spooled a few times. Still she brought them in pretty fast. The captain and crew mentioned several times that she is a good angler.

She has learned quickly.

A couple more shots - the top is her dorado, the bottom shows the 20# spinning outfit:
