The slope looks to be 40 deg, no? I think you will find that thing is gonna go down and fast kinda tough from shore but stop reeling it in and she comes up quick. The 30 deg and slightly less are easier from shore and with the right wood/retrieve they can stay on top or close to it fun lure |

I've done the large ones in sugar pine, but if I use a tailweight they don't swim well. Without a weight they have a tight wiggle and when I do the tailweight they tend to kick out and turn over. If I make more I need to figure out a jig to cut the head angle, the way I've been doing it is scary.
