today was a good day... stripers are amazing fish
took a ride today way down the cape... the water was *intense*
way too low when we got there so we took a ride hit the bay side for a bit where it was MUCH calmer, schoolies everywhere. went back to the otherside a few hours later... the water was MUCH higher and the ocean was pretty angry.. though not as angry as yesterday from the accounts of a few fellows there. We nailed a few in the 22"-25" range.... yellow bombers and rubber was where it was at. I gotta say, surfcasting in water like that is a rush... Nothing like being 20' from the edge of the water one moment, and waste deep the next. LOTS of birds working way out. Its amazing stripers could even swim in that water never mind think about eating while they were doing so. |
Stripers love rough surf, were they in the foam?
