MA hates sportsman
The Mass State Senate 38-0, approved and sent to the House a bill requiring individuals who apply for sporting,hunting, fishing,or trapping licenses to complete the Massachusetts Hunter Education Program. The proposal would repeal a current law, which exempts anyone who has a firearms license. Supporters said even individuals who are already licensed to carry a firearm should be required to complete the education program because it focuses on hunting law and ethics, wildlife identification and management and the care and handling of game.
You guys and gals out there that have been hunting and fishing all your lives now must be educated on what kind of animals and fish you have been killing all these years....not only that you have to learn how too handle what you've been killing. It does not mention what the tax....sorry I ment Fee...(how stupid of me)..is for the cost of this course.....(and some guys want a saltwater license) another novel idea..( you do know what striped bass looks like right). There is hope on two fronts here 1. Get hold of your state Rep as this is now going too the house. 2. Vote these Bastards out of office come next election unless some one can come up with a better option (this post was from a fella at stripersonline.com) |

Ok first of all this in no way affects fishermen, or people who have previously had a sporting or hunting liscence. Who does it affect you ask? It affects those people who have never had a hunting or sporting liscence in this state, who passed a handgun or long gun safety course. They will now need to take a hunting safety course, this is not a bad thing. Previously they were exempt fro the hunter safety course.

I agree...
doesn't sound too bad... actually sounds pretty smart... now if only RI would pass a safe boating class law..... |
I hate Mass sportsmen too... :hihi::whackin: :rotf2: :rotf2:

I remember taking the hunter safety course when I was 15...wow
41 years ago to the day! We had to take this if I can remember it was mandatory, but only if we wanted a hunting license. I don't know why anyone going for a fishing license would need it. Toting a gun yes, it is a good thing. Did #^^^^& Cheney take this? Sometimes I just can't help myself!!!!!!! Bluz |
it just another tax for hunters like me and new hunters in MA

maybe read all the article next time..... |
IMHO, it's going to be a rare individual who doesn't learn something (!)from a hunter safety course (no matter how long they have been around guns.) Those who got a LTC via a paper drill (with no safety course required there either) should especially benifit. In a time where the press and the anti's are looking for accidents/property damage, etc to blow their battle horns, it's everybodies duty to go above and beyond. The future of the sport depends on it.
