In need of surfcasting gear
Hi! I just joined the Connecticut Surfcasters Association Inc this month (in Madison). Although I've been fishing since since child hood (currently 56), I've always been a bait and hook type of guy. My gear has always been what I could afford (which is not much). So although my gear has always served it's purpose it's far from the best. I'd like to get a fairly good surf casting rod and reel and waders as well. However, I am somewhat financially imbarresed and could probably spend around $300.00. So, my question is, how can I make this happen and what should or can I get around this price range?
Thanks a bunch, look foward to learning from all of you. Emilio |
Keep it simple at first.
I'd go with this: A good rod is the Tica UGSA Dolphin series like the UGSA90MH2S 9'0" MH Surf Spin 12 - 30lb line 2 - 6oz lure weight 2pcs for $70.00 and for a reel a Shimano Spheros 8000 for $100 and for waders just browse the Cabelas website for something in your budget. This will cost you under $3 bills and you'll have a great plugging setup.:kewl: |
