Who needs a bait store? Mike, did you liveline any lively's?

thefishingfreak 05-24-2006 05:01 PM

no bass last night. but there out there. we only had two hours to kill so we stayed with the macks to load up bait for the year. had two live macks out down under the school but only dogfish in return.
took a beating coming in with the cold n/w wind in our face in the dark.

Mackerel, they're not just for striper. Yesterdays lunch, fresh from the sea.

I use the Mac's as bait for Cod and Haddock off shore. They do as well as clam and don't cost anything. Sometimes I think they do better. Shhhhhh don't tell

So I'll ask the question from RI.

I have a 17' center console and have never jigged up Mackeral before. Any ideas as to where to locate them? As far as tides, structure, etc?

I launch out of Striper Marina in Barrington and would love to catch up with someone whom could show me the ropes.
