Maple tree help

I have a large maple in front of my house that has been ravaged for the second straight year by those little green inch worms. It looks like lace instead of leaves, much worse this year. Last year it regenerated a second full growth of leaves so I did nothing. Any thoughts on what to do to get rid of these buggers? They make a mess of the cars and trucks too.......

From what i've heard, this year is the peak of their cycle. They should be dwindling in numbers the next few years. I hope.

Spray the bejez----- out of it with seven! If this is the second year the tree will weaken if you do not react.

For a large tree you may need to use a systemic insecticide. I've used a Bayer Tree & Shrub insecticide that you pour around the base to battle a problem with a different tree infestation.

I don't know if it works on worms but check this site for suggestions/alternatives.

You may have to consult with a licenced tree man that can spray certain insectsides, unless you realy luv the tree I'ld take a chance and let nature take its course.
