Well it could have been a 50

Someone who shall remain NAMELESS just called me on the telephone...out fishing CC bay he just got spooled by a big fish right to his backing.

But he forgot to take the hook guards off the hooks :jump:

The hook guards gave it away :smash:

No it doesn't cause I have done that several times now:uhuh: , course I am an old fart with CRS Syndrome and I know a couple others who shall also remain nameless that have done that, one on a plug he made himself to boot!

You couldn't pay me to own an Arra. Almost everyone I know whose owned one has had that happen.

I seem to remember we both got one around 20 though, not a wasted night....

My deceased partner, Gil Guilletone, with 3, 50s and more 40s than I can count lost a monster one night at Watch Hill and, you guessed it, hook guards still in place.

This has happened to me twice now. It is downright embarassing and I feel like an idiot.

One time a massive hit then nothing, make another cast again another solid hit then nothing.

The another time I actually fought the fish for a minute then phooofff! gone.

Both times after retrieving the plug I reach down in the dark and feel for the hook, expecting a tacky poik!, instead I feel a dull plastic tube. You might have heard an explective being shouted off in the distance that night. :smash:

One thinks that as one gets older and more experieced he gets wiser. As I have demonstrated, more then once, that is not the always the case.

A friend and I were out fishing , he was on the left side of the boat I was on the right. I cought several fish , him zerro. Could happen to anyone!
After a long time I told him to change lures, He brings in into the boat and I look over only to see a lure that looked like it was bought at The Christmass tree shop to hang on a tree...... he will never live that one down :fishslap:
