Krylon Make it Pearl spraypaint

I have a bunch of these cans of Make it Pearl and they are a little old, I tried some the other day and it is no longer pink :( it comes out some awful beige or something, so does the ivory.
Anyone know how or if I can restore this paint so it works again?
thanks

shake it up :wiggle:

Canalman 06-09-2006 01:21 PM

seriously though... try shaking the crzap out of it (pardon the snoop dogg reference) it it doesn't work it's junk. The pearl pigments are probably settled into the bottom of the can and it can be a biatch (another one sorry) to get it back into suspension homie.

word...

I know very little about paint, but it sounds like its simply seperating. The pigment is probably stuck to the bottom like gum on an old shoe.
Hot water, soak the can for while. Then shake very vigorously.
I had some old Con Lux industrail paint(the good stuff if you know what I mean, this is the same type of stuff they painted the Golden gate Bridge with) gave it to a friend in pa that painted a steel oudoor structure, he gave me a case of Heineken with a big smile on his face, so I guess he was happy with it. I also pained a fire escape in NY with it, worked fine.
They still sell the old Rustoleum stuff on ebay,so it must be still good after 20 years ,long as its totally sealed.

thefishingfreak 06-09-2006 06:16 PM

ditto. shake da ba-jesus out of it.
long as there's pressure in the can it's still good

Slip, I've got 2 cans, 1 is about 1/2 full the others about 3/4. You are welcome to them as I'm using the airbrush stuff now.

I've also got some plugs for you sitting in the front seat of my car to thank you for the windows for the shed. I threw em in the car thinking I'd run into you @ the canal as I know we cover some of the same ground on some of the same tides but I haven't bumped in to you yet.

Are you fishing down there this weekend at all ? If not I could drop em off after fishing tomorrow, I was going to hit M&D's when I was done fishing tomorrow morning so I could come home via 495 and drop em off.

Let the Kids shake the can, you're gonna need your elbows for casting. SHake, shake, shake. The pearl is refined mica and it settles something fierce, but is reclaimable.

I never said I don't feel like fishing it, as a matter of fact I was just there last night with Danny and he didn't want to leave after he finally caught one. I've created a monster. he outfished me and told me, ya have to have patients dad.
come on up NIB, anytime
but go up thru CT and take the mass pike so you don't get distracted in that little state below us.
