Offshore information

With the tuna season banging on our door and the cost of gas not making it any easier to spend a lot of time offshore without sacrificing the 401k I was thinking we should try to pool our knowledge to help cut down on the running around to find 'em aspect. I will be out fishing for them a few times a week and on all the weekends. If you want to exchange info lets build a pm list for contributors and go catch some tuna. Occasionally I have room on the boat for another angler. What do you guys think? I'll be out Thursday - Sunday this week.

keeperreaper 06-12-2006 08:12 AM

Mostly E of Chatham and behind Nantucket. CCB sometimes. 2 very different fisheries it seems. Van B.Harbor mostly for you right?

Van 06-12-2006 08:17 AM

I hear that the spotters have been out at Jefferies already... Good thing I get my new gear when I get back in town.

I also think that we should boat pool and share operating costs. I'm good for gas money and gear :tooth: , but not too much experience.

Has the laws changed this year regarding tuna? I have heard a lot of talk about it. What is the actual size, and bag limit for non comercial?

big jay 06-13-2006 06:24 AM

Angling category this year will be allowed 2 fish per day greater than 47" and less than 73". They will also be allowed one "trophy" fish per season over 73".
There will be a limited season (8/25 - 9/14) when the category may also take an additional one fish between 27" and 47".

crash 06-13-2006 07:00 AM

I'll be out there within reasonable distance from plymouth, I'd be happy to share any sucess.

MakoMike 06-13-2006 07:03 AM

Fish are already here in RI and have been for the last week or so.

bluefin22 06-13-2006 07:42 AM

Im in and will travel. This has been talked about before but we should all meet up or at least start a "offshore" contacts list so when/where you decide to go we can let everyone know...

kippy 06-13-2006 07:53 AM

I'm in as well..fish east of Chatham.:wavey:

keeperreaper 06-13-2006 08:24 AM

Whoever wants to get on the email list pm me and I will resend to everyone who responds. That way everyone can be privy to the info and if someone wants to trip share or buddy up ( good idea esp. w/ the E-10 gas problems) everyone will have the necessary info. I'm going offshore this weekend and will post reports.

keeperreaper 06-13-2006 08:24 AM

sorry double post..

Sluggoslinger 06-13-2006 08:35 AM

I'm out of Chatham and plan on spending some time on the crab ledge. Might make it out to suicide at some point if I get on with one of the commercial boats.

micmac 06-13-2006 10:08 AM

Sounds good Keeperreaper. I fish out of Boston but will travel for Tuna. I will send you a PM.

ThrowingTimber 06-13-2006 03:45 PM

 Tuna!!!!! mmmmmmmmm

talk to john guys maybe you can setup an offshore forum, where you can share your info and it needs apsw to get to the info.

Sgt_Nutz 06-14-2006 10:45 AM

I would be glad to contribute whatever info. I can. I dont get to far offshore and trailer mostly to Plymouth, Scituate and Onset/Wareham.

InTheHole 06-14-2006 11:33 AM

I am usually foolin around south of Noman's and will be glad to share any info

seabass 06-14-2006 07:45 PM

I'M IN , CCB.....LETS KILL EM!!! OH BOY, TUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNAAAAAA TALK ALREADY!!!!

Hooper 06-14-2006 11:31 PM

Add me to this party, I fish east of Chatham. I would guess to that there should be fish on the Crab by now. Mid June has always showed fish in the past.... I agree, the more boats the less running around and searching.

rhodyflyguy 06-18-2006 07:00 PM

i fish from watch hill to newport and out to the mudhole/fairwaybouy. this sounds good.

Fisherwoman 06-19-2006 06:47 PM
