All of these anglers and not everone wants to :yak6: their sometimes hard won spots and intelligence on a three minute fly....

First off, Welcome to S-B, good crew here

Secondly, as far as spots go, detailed descriptive spot talk is discuraged since it sometimes leads to people that chase spots showing and overwhelming it and other times it can simply ruin a spot. Now I don't think I'm going to give you my favorite Boston Harbor spot because if you are in a boat you'll break something and if on foot you might beat me to my rock ;) . Besides, a spot learned beats a spot given any day...

Third, you say you have been finding fish but don't like the size or species, could you fish your spot better? Your clamms getting mugged by skates?

So instead of asking for someone to put you on a 40, why don't you tell us what you are doing and then ask for some suggestions on how to improve your game. As you get to know a few people, here and say in fishing clubs, the knowledge will flow more accuratley and perhaps freely...

So again, welvome to S-B. Not trying to bite your head off or anything, just trying to redirect you on a better path...

Thanks...

If you are using herring legally then it is sea herring and probably a bit mushy - it is illegal to use river herring right now... If you are chunking, switch to mackeral and bunker, tossing chunks means moving to avoid the skates... Try to move to spots where deep, rocky water is in range of your chunk, also look to chunk (when & where safe) at night as bigger gals come out at that time...

Once you've got your chunking gear setup and comfortable, switch over to a lighter spinning rod and cast and retreive some storm shads - bunker color - and see if you get something on the swimming lure instead of the soaking chunk..

Good luck...

add some small tins and poppers in the mix. there are legal keepers around the shores in boston haba. i ran into a guy two weeks ago and he caught a keeper and released one in quincy.

yeah, u can try fishing at night. use lures on the moving water and use baits on the slack water.

alternatively, hire bill and juls. they will teach u. i still use their lessons and it works. im catching fish without any problem.

Try adding a float to keep the bait off the bottom a bit.

Move around, head south, there are plenty of shore spots to fish.

was hoping you knew where to fish ?
