gas vent cap

At some point this weekend my gas vent cap cracked off. Its located on the starboard side sidewall facing the water, towards the stern. The cap was slotted, assuming to let air in. Since it cracked off, it's just a hole now, no cap. Will this allow water in any easier than if the slotted cap was there, or would you think that there is something in place to not let water in??

Thanks for your help.

I would think so. How did you lose it?

i think it must of happened coming into the boat launch... its at the same height as the rub rail, so if you dont have bumpers out its gonna rub right off.

Replacement cap and inside attachment (looks the same anyway) from boat us is 15 bucks...

Going to pick up some trailer straps too while im there. :spin:

15 bucks includes the new and improved trailer straps.
