Question(s) for the old timers

Thats a stretch with me heading for 53 but what the hey :hihi:

Since I`m new to the salt in 97.... is it unusual for best fishing to be off the beaches offshore as it seems to be now predominantly... most places in New England for Striped Bass (with exceptions of course).

Muchos Gracias

Explain your question in a bit more detail Mike, I am slightly confused ( I know that's easy but I am getting better)

off beaches offshore

offshore beaches?
is that where Flap took me last week? :)

Skitter, I think I know what your asking.. it's just very different now, compared to years ago.
Each Decade, has been different, IMHO.
Things change, bait, erosion, depths in front of the beaches.
An awful lot of variables.

Flap, I think he is refering to the beaches were the best fishing seems to be within a mile from the beach out in the water. That place N East of your island for example.

Yeah the wording was bass awkwards ;)

Beach fishing sucks versus off shore better (even 1/8 mile)

I know there are exceptions but has this been the rule for many many years?

And Karl F has answered my recycled post once again :kewl:
