EBAY
How many good deals do you actually get on it?
Seems like everything is becoming overpriced........them damn snipers....bid you right out of the water at the last damn second! |
the only "deals" you get are if you are buying something you just cant FIND anywhere else but ebay.......and I use the word DEAL because you dont have to run around a bunch of stores looking anymore......
|
Dude - it's rare, I constantly see people paying over MSRP for Penn 965s & Calcutta400 reels all the time. I wish you could put comments in so people would realize that if they bought items that truley were deals instead of getting caught in the addiction of the auction, E-Bay would be a better place... In the meantime, the people that trickle their stuff on to E-bay smile all the way to the bank....
I once got a good deal there - new in box Mag Elite for $90 before they were being imported here and that was $30 less than what Mike T had as the best price around.... |
I find it almost impossible to collect saltwater plugs with all them snipers out there.....You guys know who you are :D
|
This winter I was selling penn 965 , 975 for $10 more than in my shop & website.:smash: :D
|
Its amazing how bad it is there. People are paying more than they need to plus shipping, plus the inconvenience of not getting the reels locally - The 965 & 975 are prime examples...
|
???
people still use penn reels ?
stone age... just kidding, but seriously I have never liked penn reels they seem so old school and klunky anybody else???? |
The 965 is a pretty nice reel and I wouldn't mind having one but I already have 2 Calcuttas and 4 6500ABUs. I might pitch for a 975 because of the size differential though...
Also, don't knock some of the older Penn spinners. Clunky & noisey but other than bail springs (bails are often removed anyway), they are a very reliable workhorse in the suds... |
dinosaurs
I have been using the fin-nor's
there is no question they are the best but it's all about what someone trusts |
conventional
I use shimano + abu conventional as well
|
I got a Tica Taurrus Brand new in box. Un opend for 145 to my door........
now thats a deal.......... abu reels rock... |

deals?
I have found that if your looking for deals on Ebay you must be wise to the local prices of whatever your looking for.
There are deals out there! I hooked up with a seller who happens to be a Abu rep in Sweden. I guess with the currency exchange both parties are happy when you buy from him because I recently purchased a Abu 6500CS Pro Rocket(Pro shop) for $89 plus $10 for shipping. That reel locally(if you can find it) sells for $150+. The same guy has the 7000 model for $99. I personally sell the fluke(squid type) rigs I make on there for around $1.50 each. I make a little $$ and the buyer gets his rigs for about half of what the shops sell them for. You can get a great deal on sinkers, fluke ball jigs and hooks on a regular basis if you put some time in looking. I will say that its alot harder to get a deal now as some people just dont get it!! Saw someone pay $115 for a Penn 750SS a few weeks ago. |
Take a look!
