Surf Hog

I'm long overdue on this post - but figured better late than never. Many have said it before, but I would be wrong in not saying it again - nice job Eben! I bought some of these from him before my spring Cape trip. It was really tough fishing and I'd love to say that I hit 'em big with Ebens product - but there wasn't much "Big" to be had. Despite that I was very pleased with both the castability and the action of those eels. On one particular afternoon I was standing at an outflow of a small creek - and there was massive amounts of bait - and small numbers of decent sized bass cruising below. Every few minutes I would see some bass pass through the bait and then disappear into the depths. There was a ton of bait and only small numbers of bass - which makes life difficult. I swam my own plugs as well as bombers, jigs, mag darters etc. I put on one of Eben's eels and let it roll in the outflow - couple twitches and "bang". I lost the fish - and shortly after lost another - and that was it. But I have to say that it was somewhat like fishing in an aquarium full of fish that had pleanty to eat. The only thing that seemed to arouse their interest were those eels. Nice job Eben - I promise you a better report soon - but until then I have to say 'hats off to you' for giving me something that made fat and happy bass take notice.

I haven't been doing to well lately but the only thing I've been getting fish on have been the Surfhogs and that does include one decent fish Thursday night which due to my being cursed was not able to land.

I really like the Surfhog when used with a Pt.Jude wobblehead. They seem made for each other.

Hats off to both Eben and Joe.

Had a simialr experience last weekend. Had one SurfHog left and fished it till it was totally destroyed....switched to a black sluggos and nada. Im not sure wether it was the fact that the slack was over, or they only wanted the surfhog, but more and more i believe its the surfhog. Rigged sluggos are my one of my top three..right next to beachmaster dannys and surfhowdys..but i may have to replace it with the surfhog.
Great product!
