August 10th meeting of The Buzzards Bay Anglers Club
 

On Thursday August 10th Chris Aubut will join us at our monthly meeting at the Kinsale Inn, Mattapoisett,MA at 7 pm.

Capt. Chris Aubut was born and raised on the Westport River and has an in-depth knowledge of light tackle and flyfishing for Striped Bass, Bluefish, Bonito, False Albacore, and Inshore Tuna in Buzzard’s Bay. Chris is a full time guide operating out of Westport, MA in mid summer thru fall and Key West, FL for the winter months. He has been featured on the June cover of Sports Fishing Magazine and in a current article on Bluefin Tuna in Saltwater Flyfishing. In the past, he has been on ESPN and NESN fishing the Westport River Area. Chris is often seen fishing on his days off with Dave Skok. Dave and Chris first caught Skipjack Tuna with the Mushmouth fly which is a go-to fly in Buzzard’s Bay this time of year.

Chris will prepare a slide show on the species and discuss how to find fish in our inshore waters in late August through October. Preferred tackle and methods to approach and position your boat for surface feeding fish will also be covered. If time and questions permit he can also discuss the fisheries of the Key West Area.
