Gapen Sand eel?
Has anyone seen these in person? I came across this on eBay today. They are 9" long, and weigh 2.5 ounces. It's not listed on the Gapen site from what I could find.

Several shops on the Cape have them. Two sizes I have seen blue back and chartreuse back. The plastic box has a sticker that says "Polish Sandeel". T like you I am 1/2 Polska. These may work for us at least they would make an interestin conversation piece in the collection.

Yeah Bennys has em... look cool but havent ponied up the $$
|
I like the Polish lures in general but many places have them jacked up $ and they are expensive to begin with. I took one of these sandeels out of its box....pretty but I can think of other less costly baits that would do just as well.

Are these really from Poland?
If so I'll have some. :hihi: |
Pamet B$T in Truro. Pissah from the yak.

I have two of these (I think they are called "Polish Sand eels") I don't like the action on the larger one of 2.5 oz. I do like the smaller 1.5 oz version. I had the larger tied on, and my friend had a sluggo, we ran into a huge school of bass and he outfished me 4 to 0!
So..I'm not sold. |
change the hooks- they are the weaker VMC trebbles.
|
there polish right?
I didn't buy any they probably come in sideways. :D By the way I know from experience the herd headed part of me is from Kielbasa |
Better sandeel swimmer = old Rapala 18s 20 to 40 years old...not the Magnums. No need to swap out the hooks or rings either....thin profile...swim too sexy. Tie straight on...then hold on :eek5:
If you shop right on $bay can be had for low $ Silver Hopea :humpty: if they are on sand lances this lure is a killer :smokin: |
