Are there any regs on freshwater stripers?

I was talking to a guy on a plane and he was from down south and he mentioned he fishes for big stripers on Christmas day.

Very nice!

Well, you know, they got 'em up here too. Supposedly there are some pretty good ones near the Lawrence dam this time of year; they climb the fish ladder and get stuck up there. I would like to check it out some time.

Nice Fish. I travel to TN from time to time and the guys that live down there would rather catch big sunfish (largemouth) and hate stripers cause they eat the largemouth bass...........:wall: Keep up the good work!!

I can't remember where I read it, but they are predicting that the next world record will come from the sweet-water.

welcome brent,

10 or so years ago i fished lake lanier just north of atlanta a lot. if my memory is correct i think the lake record was a little north of 60#. in the winter we'de use live rainbows back in the coves. if we didn't get a big one we could always eat the bait.

Brent,

The boys at the In-Fisherman did a video Called "striper stratedies" it highlites some of the waters by you. A big part of the video touches on summer weather stategies you might want to check it out.
