Lu, those look Fantastic..
were U in "dartah hell" long, or did ya already have it down?

eastendlu 07-31-2006 01:52 PM

I am lucky enough to have had all you fine plugbuilders post about darters to educate me.Ohhh and i'm still going thru darter hell as i had made some other ones but they swam like upside down logs.

Tagger 07-31-2006 02:39 PM

You nailed the Larry Welcomes Lu .. perfect... Hows the darters swim ..I been making them loop on top . How they work with loop out front ,,never did that ..

eastendlu 07-31-2006 02:59 PM

The loop in front does not make much of a diffrence as i was observing a woody's darter and tried it out.I think it is more important on the top angle and body and face geometrythat is more important on the action than the line tie.I copied an original frech darter and only changed the line tie and made it a single belly hook but the rest is all his.A true proven design by a master!!Its hard to try to improve on his design as i gave one to a friends father the other day and he took it that night and nailed a 28lbs. on his second cast.I also noticed on a woody's darter that the front is wider than the back and this makes the darter swim more than dart.So its all in the geometry as i wish i had payed more attention in math class.

Oh my. Now I feel fat and lazy. Some kinda beautiful stuff to turn out during the season, Lu, really beautiful. Just the thought of those big darters working their way slow through a big rip on a black fall night when.......................BANG. Beautiful.
