REPENT!

i was on 146 heading to North Smithfield. I could see the lightning and dark clouds and I was heading right into them temp was 96. The heavy wind hit , knocked down some branches , then some whole trees fell down! One lane on 146 south was blocked. It poured for a minute then stopped. Over the span of that 1 minute , the temp dropped 23 degrees to 73.
I just got back home and not a drop has fallen here and the temp is about 84. There is still lightning everywhere so hopefully it will rain and get us into the 70"s. |
i was lucky enough to see the bolt that split a hemlock down the middle bout 20 feet from my house. Really cool stuff. It was weird though, it wasnt nearly as loud as the rest of the boomers. Mother nature cut a few nice 2x4's for me. Also screwed up my pump, lost the prime.
|
So I'm 20 min away from home watching my step-sons ball game, and listening to the marine weather on the radio.
It's starting to lightening, I'm freaking out...because every window in the house is open...and my wife doesn't seem to give a whip. I can't believe how long it took them to call the game. Got home...SOAKED :splat: -spence |
This is all %$%$%$%$in Clammers fault:hihi:
Hopefully things are clear for 11pm shove off time to fish! |

Well, considering we got hit about the same time as you guys, I'm assuming there's another line of storms behind that one.
|
It completely fell apart as it reached the coast. Other then some distant rumbles, lightening, and an impressive skyline nothing really happened. Most importantly we didn't get any nice cooling rain....
There were plenty of scared center consoles running full throttle home from and through Brenton Reef. One guy definitely didn't know the cuts and was lucky to make it through. I was expecting to hear the sound of fiberglass on the rocks. The sail boats were tacking back and forth nervously as well. They lucked out today. |
It was awesome down this end of the Island. All I can saw is WOW!!!
Still hot and sticky though. |
It was a good show....temps cooled as it approached and it was so refreshing after the heat today I threw open the door to my shop and sat there and watched the lightening show and listened to the thunder roll!:kewl:
|
Went from 100 to 76 deg in about an hour. Crazy.

one little black cloud....one boom....three drop's and still hotter an h****.
|
too hot
Dark skies, no noise, no rain, still in the upper 90s, where the heck did you guys manage that storm from? We got nuttin.
|
never happened here....looked it for awhile
|
We drive north of Tiverton 4 corners right into the cell...torrential rain, hail and tree parts falling everywhere.
At one point I was out of our car with 3 other people getting soaked trying to remove a fallen tree so we could get home. Near mini-disaster, then the power went out for an hour... Life is nearly back to normal, although everywhere we usually sleep is very wet. -spence |
Within ten seconds of hitting submit on this thread yesterday, my power went out til about 9p:wave:
But yeh, temps came down afterward... |
crazy how a flew blocks makes a difference. Our light flickered 2 times but never lost power. I would of been devestated not seeing Brooke Burke on Rock Star SuperNova.
|
it sure was "interesting" to drive through.
|
Now you tell me :nailem:
Got NAILED last night. Around 430 pm in Northern Worc. County, saw the wind start spinning....lightning like you would not believe and then it happened. Tree either got hit or was blown over onto our service lines. JUST got power back! 24 hours and 45 minutes later! At least everyone was safe. 2 people told me they saw a funnell cloud in our area...I believe it! |
