Good luck SOTB. The reports are that the Ditch is hot right now.

Some advice for this time of year. If you plan to use the skin jigs , rig the skins short , not as long as possible but something that looks about 7 to 9 inches in overall length once the skin is tied on. Also , tie direct to the jig , no snaps , etc. Jig deep. If you don't lose some jigs stuck on the bottom , you ain't doin it right.

Ditto - what Saltheart said.

Also - use 'em black side out. If ya find some dead herring laying around, open up the herring and rub the skins with the roe. Messy but deadly.

I was in agreement that skin jigs would be good now . I saw a 20# caught on a leadhead and a sluggo and a couple others about the same size on herring .

For anyone looking for some meat to put behind those leadheads, I set up Mike at M&D's with a recent order of 18 bags each of the 13 and 9 inch Mega & Big jerks in the black shad color. Those are pearl bellys and black tops. He also has a supply of the Black Beauty color, black with a hint of red and chartreuse glitter. I've also got a fair amount of the bullets left in 2-1/2, 3 and 4 oz.

oow , that JPowers knows all kind of tricks. Them bass don't have a chance when he's fishing! :) Good tip about the egg scent. I've seen it done to herring type plugs before but its a good idea for the skins too.
