Codfish Report

On Friday I took a group of four die-hard cod fishermen out to Cox's ledge where we proceeded to catch about 100 dogfish along with over 30 steaker-sized cod. The doggies made us go through a lot of bait but the anglers were very happy with their over 200 pounds of cod.

We actually developed a very efficent way of releasing the doggies. I have one of the spring loaded hook disgorgers that grabs the shank of the hook. The guys would just hold the doggies next to the boat and I would reach over and grab the leader and then grab the hook with the disgorger and shake the thing loose. Every one of them went back unharmed.
