Sad day for sure 11 years ago :( Millions of fans were crushed that day.
I still remember where I was when I got the bad news.
He was a piece of work, it's a shame he lived hard and died young.

likwid 08-10-2006 08:32 AM

Where were you?

I was in San Fran hanging out to see Ratdog at the Warfield that night.

Jerry Garcia Band was great. I was born in the wrong era, listened to the dead all thru growing up, saw about 35 shows plus JGB. Listening to "Deal" right now... RIP Jerry

You sure?
Because I was out there in SF when it happened.
Seems odd they would fly the next day to play the Warfield.
I'll go find my ticket stub for the exact date.

Edit:
Yep you're right.
it was a couple weeks later.
I was not in my right mind on that road trip. :hihi:

Some of my favorite lyrics

Come hear the Uncle John's Band by the riverside
Got some things to talk about, here beside the risin' tide
Come hear Uncle John's Band playing to the tide

Gotta go Blue crabbin now!!!!!
