Split Ring Pliers
 

Where can I buy a good split ring plier and which one should I get? Local hardware store (ACE) doesn't carry them. Thanks...

I got a pair of Calcutta split ring pliars from M&D's about 2 years ago. I absolutely LOVE these things. They work great for getting the ring...well....split but also have the texture of normal needle-nose pliars so I can run the ring around the good and onto the lure without changing tools. Something line $12 or so..great tool

made mine out of a reg. pr. of plier's..ground the nose nice an wide like an old snaggle tooth...not even shark or tuna ring's stand a chance...$ free an a few min's of your time to grind down.

I use split ring pliers alot and my only experience is with the cheapy set of "lakeside" pliers you get at wallyworld.They work.

Have to agree. These work great. $4 at Wally World.

The one I like best is by Texas Tackle the Large size. They are tough to find. I had them for a while but they have been out of stock.

Bought cheaper ones that work but wish they worked better.

Just my opinion, but my old pair were the Texas Tackle ones, and my new Shimanos are better. They stop the split ring from flipping and are just easier to use, especially with those recessed belly swivels.
