Sounds like you are off to a good start. Bombers, bucktails, rubber shads, and sluggos are some more choices but it is hard to say being you are in Tennessee fishing freshwater while I'm up on Long Island fishing saltwater. Different conditions call for different plugs. Basically if you are fishing deeper water use bucktails and weighted rubber shads, mid level you can still use the bucks and shad but may now try swimming plugs, topwater is your poppers and floating swimmers. Find a local B&T pick their brain and go out and just fish and learn. thats the best and most rewarding way to do it. Good luck.

It will depend on where you are fishing and when. For example, if you are fishing Norris or Cherokee right now, bucktail jigs or live shad will be your best bet. If you can find some in the jumps early or late in the day, you might find a popper or spook to do well along with the bucktail. Jigging spoons will also produce if you can located a school. If you are fishing some of the rivers, a couple of 7 inch Red Fins are all that you will need this time of year.
