The Mushmouth is always a reliable one. Pamet River Special has worked well to. Easy to cast flies that don't foul are the only ones I fish.

Presentation is incredibly important, pulling the fly away from the school is key. Perpendicular works sometimes, but pulling away from tuna really increases your chances so who ever is driving the boat is an important part of the equation. If they constantly put you in a spot where the wind is at your shoulder and the fish aren't coming at you you could be in for a long day unless it's a bloodbath out there. You will also have days where nothing matters; as long as the fly is near the fish you hook up.

Catching tuna on the fly is a team effort. Boat driving skills and the ability to read where the fish are going separate average guides from the best when it comes to surface feeding tuna.

I unfortunately didn't see any schoolie tuna busting the surface like the reports from last year. Saw skipjack, albies and such, but no SBT. Lots of reports of them blowing up the surface but was unfortunate that I didn't get to see it myself this year. Almost all reports I heard of this year were of SBT taken on the troll.
