Who would argue that with TC? :D

tattoobob 08-28-2006 09:42 PM

fishonnelsons 09-02-2006 12:08 PM

March 31, holy cow, I guess I am hurting. Doing ALOT of charters, thank God, and the shop going well, and my third job as a launch driver at the Marina is starting to wind down, can I fish now??

Karl F 09-20-2006 10:11 AM

Finally! Signed up this AM.. meant to get there Sunday. but time was not on my side... See you this weekend.

Backbeach Jake 09-20-2006 11:38 AM

:btu:

Slingah 09-24-2006 06:43 PM

How did this go??
Who won and with what??
and how did you guys do who entered??

Karl F 09-24-2006 08:54 PM

I got nothing worthy of entering..(unless there is a seal category) things came up around here ealry today, so I didn't make it up to P-town to see who got what..

Rich, let us know.. did the Senior Angler pull it off, again?

Backbeach Jake 09-25-2006 05:15 AM

I caught less than KarlF.

Karl F 09-25-2006 11:21 AM

I fished it hard Friday night thru Saturday AM.. I had to go off cape Saturday evening/night, or I would have been back at it, but slightly north of where I was Friday night.

Sure looked perfect, real nice surf, and I could smell fish, especially half-way thru the drop.. managed a couple of "just keeper" fish, when I switched to real small yellow plastic .. tough to get it out into that surf.., but that is all that produced for me. Guy fishing down from me hooked up a schoolie, and immediatley was into a fight with a seal.. seal took about 40 bucks worth of fireline from him, before the seal won. SeaRat got the plug and the fish too. At dawn, my eyes were treated to seeing too many to count seal heads bobing in the surf.. just waiting...

I bet the Senior Angler took it again, he deserves it, with all his time in.
I just need more time!

BBJ, I feel your pain.

Backbeach Jake 09-25-2006 11:30 AM

I got zippity. As I was packing to leave yesterday afternoon, I could smell fish in a major fashion. You know how your hand smells after lipping the first bass of the season? Like that. This is a sign, says I. Grabbed a rod, ran down to the beach, 2hours past high, perfect surf like you say. Sign alright. "L" on my forehead.

tattoobob 09-25-2006 11:57 AM

I know that smell very well, and it usually pays off.

Couldnt have said it any better? Last I knew when I left Nelson's at 10:30 a keeper still hadn't been weighted in. I would like to know who won? Does anybody know?

Karl F 09-25-2006 12:32 PM

reelchitty??

Don't tell me that please...I put two fish around 29-30 inches back.. thought they were not worthy..
was that 10:30 AM on Sunday?..

Oh Man..

Rich, please give us the update, when ya get the chance...

BigFish 09-25-2006 04:25 PM

I heard nobody weighed in?

fishonnelsons 09-26-2006 04:18 PM

Sad truth is no keepers were brought to the scale - alot of folks fished REAL HARD, hit many spots, took long walks, saw the sun go down and come back up. Zero, zip wad, nada.

Doing a re-do this weekend - 12:01 a.m. Friday to Sunday at noon, no re-entry fee. Only the one First Place prize though - 9' Ron Arra.

Backbeach Jake 09-26-2006 06:14 PM

Do you mean to tell me that I'm tied with some of the best fishermen on Cape Cod until Sunday?! There'll be no living with me until then!!:rotf2:

Karl F 09-26-2006 06:17 PM

BBJ :hihi:.. I'm fit ta be tied ;)..

Thanks Rich!

I am working the whole weekend this weekend.. Fri. Sat. and Sun... but, I will sqeeze in some time to fish :)..
I truly hope I am waiting at your door one of those mornings at 7 AM, with a heavy cooler...

DZ 09-29-2006 01:03 PM

Had a friend of mine up on Friday night 9/22. He took a 25 off a Truro Beach on a Senko.

He "coulda been a contenda"

Oh well.

DZ

ReelChitty 10-01-2006 01:35 PM

Alright how did it go this weekend. I couldn't go this weekend but who won?

Backbeach Jake 10-01-2006 01:58 PM

Welllllll, RC, I stank the place out. Not a tap. I rot....

fishonnelsons 10-01-2006 04:00 PM

Don't fret Fred (not bad eh?). The fishing for bass up this way, I will say as a Tackle Shop owner, has been "spotty" (does that mean stink to a non-tackle shop owner?).

Again, no fish weighed in by those electing to participate. Rumor had it one participant had one fish and measured it against the "mark" on his fishing partners rod, only to find it short by an inch. The next day he re-measured the mark and found it was 30 inches, not 28 - no buddy no more.

Oh well, the fish won, we'll try it again next year, maybe a little later.

Karl F 10-01-2006 04:30 PM

A whole multitude of things kept me from wetting a line this weekend :o.. thanks for the report.. sounds like I woulda had the same result, even if i had gotten out..

Rich, just a thought.. meybe Columbus Day weekend next year?

fishonnelsons 10-02-2006 06:12 AM

Maybe Karl - longer weekend, later in the year, who knows but thanks for the input.
